History Meets Science — Who writes here, and how
About This Blog
History Meets Science explores the connections between historical events, scientific discovery, and the world we live in today. The goal is simple: take topics that seem distant or complicated, and make them genuinely interesting to read.
The subjects covered here range from space history and astronomy to military technology, biology, and the science behind everyday experience. What they share is a belief that understanding where ideas come from makes them more meaningful — not less.
Every post on this blog starts with a real question — one I actually wanted answered. That curiosity is the editorial standard.
About the Author
My name is James. I work professionally in the metals and materials industry — a field that runs on precision, process, and applied science. That background shapes how I approach research: methodically, with an eye for what the evidence actually says versus what people assume.
Outside of work, I've spent years curious about the history behind things: why we went to the moon, who figured out what Venus was, what ancient astronomers actually understood. Writing this blog is how I pursue those questions seriously.
- ✓Professional background in the metals and materials industry
- ✓Military service experience — artillery unit, fire direction specialist
- ✓Personal interest in space history, astronomy, and the history of science
- ✓Research supported by primary sources, scientific literature, and verified reference databases
Editorial Process
This is a one-person blog. There is no editorial team. What there is: a consistent research process applied to every post before it goes live.
Topic selection — Starts with a genuine question or something I noticed and wanted to understand better.
Source research — Primary sources, peer-reviewed references, and established reference databases. Sources are linked in every post.
Fact verification — Key claims are cross-checked across multiple independent sources before writing begins.
Review — Each post is reviewed for accuracy and clarity before publication. Where I have personal experience relevant to the topic, that context is included directly in the writing.
A Note on Accuracy
I take accuracy seriously, but I'm not infallible. Science changes. Historical interpretations evolve. If something on this blog is incorrect or outdated, I want to know. The contact page is open.
Every post includes a disclaimer noting that articles are for educational and informational purposes, and that readers should consult primary sources and qualified professionals for decisions that matter.
